Template review and platform templates

Reviewing teams' requests to publish templates to Pi Durable Platform's catalog, and writing platform templates.

The catalog is what every team in Pi Durable Platform can deploy. It holds platform templates, which platform admins write, and team templates that a platform admin approved. Admin › Templates has two lists: Waiting for review, the requests to publish, at the top, and Every template below it.

Review a request

A team's owners and admins ask to publish one of their templates. It shows as Waiting for review until a platform admin decides.

Open the template and read its current version: its instructions, its model and its MCP servers. That version is what other teams will deploy.

Choose Review request.

Approve puts it in the catalog: every team can deploy it now. Reject sends it back to private; a Note to the team is required, saying what to change before asking again. The team sees the note.

Approval is refused when the template's current version runs on one of the team's own models or attaches one of its own MCP servers (409 team_model, 409 team_mcp_server): no other team could use them.

The team can take an approved template out of the catalog again at any time. Agents other teams deployed from it keep working on their version.

What to look for

  • The instructions do what the description says, and nothing a team other than its authors wouldn't expect.
  • The model is one every team may use, and its cost is reasonable for broad use.
  • The MCP servers and tools are ones every team should get. Their credentials act the same for every agent and thread.
  • Whether it lets apps give its agents their own MCP servers for a thread.

Every decision is recorded in the team's audit log (agent_template.approve, agent_template.reject).

Platform templates

New platform template creates a template that is always in the catalog. It may run on platform models only and attach platform MCP servers only. Only platform admins change platform templates; teams deploy them.

Agents keep the version they were deployed with. When you add a version, tell the teams that use the template: they upgrade their agents on each agent's page.

Archive a template to stop new deployments; existing agents keep working.

The built-in assistant

The platform has a built-in platform template, assistant. Agents created without naming a template (for example PUT …/agents/by-key/… without templateId) use it.
